WeCare Fund for Student-Initiated Youth Suicide Prevention Projects

WeCare Fund for Student-Initiated Youth Suicide Prevention Projects was set up in March 2016 in response to the upsurge of student suicide. Thanks for the kind donation of Mr. Lau Ming Wai and Ms. Beatrice Mok, 25 student initiated youth suicide prevention projects were successfully implemented in 2016-2019, all with a maximum grant of HK$50,000 per project. With the support of professional advisor of each team, the fund aims to encourage students to initiate, plan, organize and implement various mental health related workshops and activities for their peers to participate at their own campuses. Through these projects, we hope to nurture positive emotions and atmosphere at post-secondary campuses, and to enhance the awareness of mental health issues among the youths, the future of families and of the society of Hong Kong.

Two best practice award ceremonies had taken place. Awarded projects were given additional funding to sustain and extend their projects. For more details:

Based on the encouraging experience and results of student-initiated youth suicide prevention projects, WeCare Fund Student- Initiated Youth Suicide Prevention Projects will take place again in 2019. With the generous support from Community Partner Foundation, Founder, Ms Beatrice Mok, 6 projects will be selected this year, each will be granted with a maximum grant of $HKD50,000. We are now cordially inviting full and part time post-secondary students to apply for WeCare Fund 2019. Application opens from May to August 2019.
